I was delighted to discover the celebration of National Joe Day on March 27th! Who knew there was such a holiday and even a Facebook page dedicated to this special day?! My special reason to celebrate is that my son is named Joe. I’m glad to have an opportunity to give him a special shout-out for making this blog possible! His artistic abilities created the framework and design for the Organized by Olive website and blog. It is almost impossible to start a new business today without a quality website. It has been a blessing to me to know that I could entrust this important aspect of my business to my son, Joe.
Here are some great ways for you to celebrate National Joe Day!
- Read a Peanuts comic strip starring “Joe Cool”!
- Thank a G.I. Joe soldier!
- Shop at Trader Joe’s!
- Read a book about Cincinnati Reds pitcher and broadcaster Joe Nuxhall!
- Buy a cup of joe (coffee) for your favorite Joe!
And speaking of coffee, why not set up your own coffee station in your kitchen? The picture below from our “Awesome Afters” gallery shows how convenient it can be to have your coffee maker, grinder, and coffee supplies organized together in one place on the kitchen counter. It saves you time, money, and energy! Make it easy to quickly fix your coffee. Enjoy using your favorite mugs. Splurge with different kinds of flavored creams. Know at a glance what supplies you need. And don’t worry about having to make an extra stop at the coffeeshop on the way to work! Dedicate a part of your kitchen counter to this small luxury. Once you have created this special zone in your kitchen, it just might inspire you to tidy up other areas, too!
Too often we let random items clutter up our counters and tables. Then it is too much trouble to enjoy doing simple things like cooking, baking, or even making a cup of coffee. Decide today that you will clear off one counter. Organize just one area of your kitchen. Then enjoy the benefits of actually using your kitchen. And make sure to have a delicious cup of joe!
