Today’s message is short and sweet: Do something nice for you!
It is easy to fill our days with endless tasks, chores, and demands. We say “yes” to too many people and run every direction all day long. By the time we go to bed at night, we are physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually exhausted.
It does not have to be this way!
You can decide that your days will be different.
You can organize your day to include your most important activities first. Establish priorities. Set limits.
Then you can enjoy doing something special for you! It may be a cup of tea by a sunny window. It may be a phone call to a dear friend. Perhaps a manicure is a nice treat. Maybe browsing at the library would be a welcome break in your day. Or you could make your favorite kind of cookies. Give yourself permission to take that 15 minute walk. Look through the family photo album and savor those special memories. Anything that refreshes your soul and recharges your energy; do that!
It is okay to have a daily retreat just for you; don’t feel like you have to wait until special days or holidays! By doing loving things for yourself every day, you will be refreshed and ready to serve others.
What is your favorite daily retreat?
