Organizing serves a much greater purpose than just neatly putting things in order. I believe that organizing is actually a way of blessing my family, my friends, and myself.  The benefits of organizing refresh my mind and spirit.  As Melissa Michaels says,

“Our homes should inspire us to go out into the world to do great things and then welcome us back for refreshment.” (Love the Home You Have)

I love organizing because:

heart-1088487_640 Organizing motivates me to eliminate clutter.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing helps me to let go of the past.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing equips me to simplify my life.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing enables me to maximize space.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing helps me realize the value of daily routines.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing equips me to effectively and efficiently use my time.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing enables me to quickly find what I need when I need it.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing empowers me to focus and finish what I start.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing helps me to clear my mind for creative activities.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing allows me to visualize my dreams and goals.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing reduces stress, chaos, and confusion in my life.

heart-1088487_640 Organizing enriches my life with an abundant measure of peace and calm.

I smile when I read this message on a calendar in my kitchen:

“The ordinary arts we practice every day at home are of more importance to the soul than their simplicity might suggest.” Thomas Moore

Yes, what we do in our homes matters so much! I love the freedom of organizing.. it just decompresses me and makes me feel lighter and more in control. Just as you said, it reduces stress!

  • Olive says:

You are exactly right, Seana! Less stuff = more freedom! Organized stuff = less stress! Knowing what you have, where to find it, and where to put it away certainly frees your mind. Thanks for stopping by Organized by Olive!!
